Yoga Nidra by Alexandra 715-815pm

The Akhanda Yoga Nidra practice is a unique style, masterfully designed by Himalayan Master, Dr. Yogrishi Vishvketu. While commonly described as “the yoga of rest / the yoga of sleep”, at Akhanda Yoga we share Yoga Nidra as a practice of Transcendental Rest. It is a practice for deep inner awakening to self-heal, expand, and rest within your True Self.

Yoga Nidra and Meditation are very powerful tools for wellbeing, and these practices connect you to your Soul. When you are deeply connected to your Soul, the Soul guides you to your purpose, rather than the mind and ego which are often directing and formulating our life decisions.

Modern day lifestyles prevent us from being truly rested and process all emotions happening throughout the day. The physical, mental, and emotional body accumulate stress and repressed emotions. By practicing Yoga Nidra, we are able to relax the body at a cellular level, release deep tension, and restore its capacity to heal and process, therefore making us more able to access meditative states and bringing us closer to our higher self and spiritual expansion.

Yoga Nidra is a very relaxing and restorative practice. We may practice gentle asanas at the beginning of the class. Most of the class will be practiced laying down on your mat, while I guide you toward deep, transcendental rest.

Open to all levels of practice, variations will be offered.
